black screen

hi ,

i've reinstalled gal civ on my pc . Each time , i launch the game , a black screen appears , the music play but that's all ; i don't understand because i played a lot with this game before when i installed it the first time.
ps : i've downloaded all the patch at stardock central and my pc configuration is pentium III 1 ghz , 256 ram .

teiqne, can you please do a file search for dart*.dll? There are 3 dlls that Gal Civ won't load without, and if you don't have those on your system it could cause what you're seeing.

i've made it . File search found three files in win32system : DartObjects.dll
DartSock.dll
Dartweb.dll

I had a similar problem a while ago. The pop-up blocker I was using at the time (don't remember which one) would not allow GalCiv to load. I disabled the pop-up blocker and the problem went away. This was a while ago, so it may be fixed now.

i used modzilla and disabled pop up but the pb is still here . Black screen and trouble sound .

Hmm...so it's not the dlls.  Can you please e-mail me your debug.err file from the same directory as your galciv.exe? I might be able to tell where it's getting stuck.
