Question about production

Will production still cost you when you are not prducing something?
The reason I ask is that the insane production my core worlds have now is starting to give me economical problems.

Yes it does. You are still paying for those factories and the workers within the factories, even if the factories are not producing anything. Yes, I know you should still be paying less. There is a whole thread about suggestions for this called 'best solutions for wasted resources'
