Details on how the various subsystems work is a Good Thing.

In addition to Morale, you might add Combat and Research?
In general, the online version of the manual feels quite thin in places; though I have never played the game, and it often seems to make the none-too-unfair assumption that I can click on buttons and thus understand what I am being told. The online manual is also probably out of date (labelled as September 2002).
Specific points of confusion I can recall, and related comments, offered in a spirit of constructive criticism (and awareness that much might be made clear by a newer version of the manual and having the game running on my machine

) :
- The meaning of the icons on the map is not very clear. Which is the player's color (probably quite clear when playing the game, but I have had no small difficulty sussing this out in reading the AARs.

) What are the pluses, wedges, lines, Xes, and the various sizes of circles? The manual suggests the circles indicate production or population, but this did not always seem, to me, to fit the context.
- Galactic achievements and wonders can only be built once (per civ and per galaxy). If they are(or if they can be?) blown to bits, can the then be rebuilt, or are they then gone forever?
- Leases and the walkthrough: when I use the colony ship to colonize a planet, do I stop paying the lease fees?
Overall, the online manual provides and overview of the game but also feels very much a "once over lightly" appetizer course. I'd prefer a manual that had the appetizer, soup, main course, dessert, and mints.
