SoaSE, a Unit Reference Chart, v1.12 uploaded

SoaSE, a Unit Reference Chart, v1.12 uploaded

Apparently, it's just about enough time after release that everyone feels like they want data presented in chart format ;) So, along with the other threads, here's a reference sheet I made yesterday, of basically, Everything I felt I wanted to know.

That is:
Damage types, Ship/structure types, costs, logistics, abilities, build times, damage, health/shield, etc.

v1.12 up: Updated for 1.1, 1.11, and 1.12; added detailed ability descriptions. Changed a little formatting.

Just some quick feedback on the chart:

Great work, but do you think you could format it to be printer friendly? The frigate and capital ship sections in particular are partly cut off when I ran them off, even on landscape format. Tiny issue, I know, but I wanted to have some reference on the go (bus, etc.) and it was somewhat incomplete. Maybe moving some information for ships down to a second row of entries? Could be a lot of work, I'm not sure, but something to consider, at any rate. Thanks!

It's definitely something I'd like to do, but I can't think of anything that wouldn't make it more cluttered. I'm always open to suggestions though, if someone downloads the Excel version, fiddles around with it, and comes up with something workable.

I tried just that for you. I tested these out on my worst printer (Black and White/8 years old/900px x 1300px) - and they all came out rather well. The capital ships one was a little squished, but it managed to still come out legible without any hitches.

Printable Charts.

If anybody is having any problems printing these in any way, let me know right away. I'll do my best to either squish them down further, or to crop them even further so that they work for even the worst of printer resolution sizes.

Zyrxil, thank you for the Spreadsheet, it is a great reference.

Do you have plans to expand it to include techs and some economic information? For instance the costs on the planetary upgrades would be nice to see alongside the information you already have. Income rates for credits and resources on another tab could be handy as well, but I don't know how easy all that is to find, or format for easy reading.

Well, that damage types section alone should really help clear a lot of things up for me. Thanks.

Also, do bombers have any special bonus versus structures, or is the reason they are good against them just that they get around the gravity well quickly and that they have higher DPS than fighters?
They do, Structures is at the bottom of the damage chart. All structures are Very Heavy type armor, and bomber strikecraft are 100% damage against structures while fighters are 25% damage against structures.

Great resource. Kudos!

A great sheet, and so much depth! It makes the other sticky look pretty bad. If you could add a few more things, such as the stats for abilities, it'd be perfect.
Not that you can't look at them in game, of course, it'd just be very convenient.

Not really.

Many stats for in-game abilities are completely missing from in-game infocards, e.g. the stats for the siege turret made by the desolator which can be found in the entity files (I posted it twice, but not gonna check now for example purposes), range of damage spread of a ship destroyed by volatile nanites (1000) and in general if abilities stack | renew duration with itself and so on.

The problem is that it's a really long task to list each abilities stats, some abilities have their info spread in over 3 to 5 different entity files and theres 136 in total (including buildings abilities and ability for constructors to construct).

My only question is this....

What would win in a fight, a Lion or a Bear?

ignore this post.

dude your chart rocks

So if I'm reading this chart correctly would fighters be a better defense against siege frigates? I've been loading my hangars with all bombers unless the enemy starts using strike craft (single player). Seems like I might want to mix in a little fighter usage early on to defend against those annoying siege frigate raids.
Yup, fighters are better against planet bombers.

Could we get a chart for speeds? And turn rates for ships and caps? I cant seem to find them anywhere.

Awesome spreadsheet. There seems to be two (pseudo) ship entries missing, though: the Missile Battery made by the Sova Carrier and the Siege Platform made by the Vulkoras Desolator. Temporary entities, but they have ship-type stats just the same, probably by level.

small typo to fix:
cruisers sheet, support, vasari overseer, abilities:
"b7" -> "by"

Your charts are superior by far to Kruelgor's. He's effing retarded. Keep up the good work!

Hey, are you planning updating for v1.04? Just wondering so I could gauge whether or not to update everything for myself. Great job with this and thank you!

Now that's not very nice, my Jewish friend from New Jersey. His chart is nice, for sure. My chart is just a basic chart for beginners. I've always said that. I might update my chart soon to reflect the same type of info as this one.

I added those to the ability descriptions, I think I forgot to write a note for that.
