Capital ships shouldn't count as fleet

...because dark armada will ruin you!

I'm trapped in a game where I essentially have to scuttle my way to victory.

why? because i stupidly let my flagship and 3 other capitals die in a brawl where i wiped out 3 AI fleets and 8 of their capitals. It was worth it... except for I forgot that my dark armada has my fleet counter at -298723598325 and I'll never be able to build more siege frigates or capitals, so now I'm finding it difficult to win.

If cap ships need to count as fleet for balance purposes, then please put in a "scuttle all" so that I can wipe out 300 ships without having to do it individually! The dark armada reinforces almost as fast as I can scuttle!

Just an Idea for 1.03

heres a suggestion, turn dark armada autocast off.

if you arent aware of it, when autocast is on and theres 0 supply left they still cast returning armada and dont summon any ships, thus wasting a cast (the antimatter and cooldown). The best option is to turn there autocast off and after you increase the supply by whatever manually summon the ships, that way you can summon ships worth ((30 to 45)*phase stabilizers) supply instantly and also manage how much supply you have as reserve.

Bad title - the title of your post should read "Dark Armada shouldn't allow you to exceed fleet cap."

I disagree. Exceeding fleet cap is one of the strengths of dark armada and one of the reasons why you have to spend a fortune to get it. the whole point is for it to give you overwhelming amounts of ships... but your capitals shouldn't factor into this. It's much like warcraft III where your heroes didn't eat into your food costs.

But I still think the easiest solution is just to let you scuttle as many ships at a time as you want. They let you do it in homeworld.... and it looked really cool then!

Protip: Turn autocast off for all of your abilities. The AI will waste your antimatter.

Erm, how do you get it to exceed fleet cap? Every game I've played as Vasari, it'll only summon new ships if you have fleet capacity. Sometimes it'll go into a small negative number (say you have 2 capacity left and it summons a ship worth 4, you'll go to -2), but then it won't summon any more ships.

Oh, and I agree with the other posters who have pointed out that switching off the auto-cast can make it a lot easier to deal with.

Dark Armada should default to off... Especially since you can only change it on finished portals, after the research, and that just adds up the amount of clicks :P

id rather have less fleet cap and 3-5 more cap ship tbh. i love my caps

I would prefer that Cap ships don't cost fleet supply, and instead are either more expensive to build and/or research. But that is just me.

If they didn't use fleet cap, people would likely go straight up the capital tech and ignore logistics as long as they can to avoid upkeep.

better tip, group all your phase gates in one of the # grps. That way you can turn autocast on and off when u want :)

Your joking, right?

Given the sheer number of casts that should be going on in an individual battle, thats insane. Turning off specific auto-casts, sure. But not all of them!
