Frogboy:

Can you explain what you mean by "get a technology sooner"? I was always under the impression that GalCiv doesn't generate random tech trees for each empire as some other games do (no problem, I like that), and you simply gain access to any tech as soon as you research all its prerequisites. If this isn't the case, can someone explain how it really works? I don't remember myself ever missing any tech as long as I followed my tech tree to be honest.

I don't see difference when i had a creativity..

I agree with Za H, I want to know too..

If, nothing.. then, Why you add creativitly for?? it is so useless..

Thankx!

What he said in the IRC channel was you have a chance at Finishing researching a tech before the time shown.

For example, say you have '2 months' listed on the research screen, you hit end turn. BAM, research finished early.

It doesnt happen every time, hence it's a 'random event' sort of bonus.

I think luck gives other bonuses too, unlike creativity that is just for tech boosts. I'm no expert though, and could be completely wrong.

oh.. maybe that is why sometimes I thought "huh.. I got that tech sooner than expected!". Thanks.. :)

Thanks for confirmation Frogboy, I'm sure you want to leave some mystic, but I think I can actually make a guess about some specifics.

There seems to be a chance each turn (maybe 25%???) that the amount of research on your current tech is half completed. Any body else actually tried messing with this ability?

If I'm right, and I could be very wrong, I still don't have a clue how it decides if it gets triggered. I know I didn't randomly finish research while I had my research set to zero.

But I do know that one of the huge techs at the end.. well when I was researching I noticed the time left was cut by a huge chunk... and then it researched even before even that reduced time was completed.
