Unless I can't run it, which may be a possibility with my piece of crap PC, then I'm out 50 bucks for nothing.

If you buy direct digital download that's not an issue. If it doesn't run on your system you get a full refund as long as you at least contact support to try to resolve.

dude, just buy it. if you are even considering the purchase of this game, bite the bullet cause you wont regret it.

These are my specs: AMD 3500, 2 gig RAM, 7600 GT Nvidia video card, XFi Gamer sound card. Game runs great at 1280 x 1024 (max setting for my monitor) with no glitches or slow downs. The game is solid, more so than any I've played in a while.

I had reservations at first: Stardock was selling the game, not making it; Ironclad has no real track record (I wasn't impressed with Homeworld: Cataclysm) and I was burned with other games with no demo (MOOIII).

This game is GREAT! I actually stop playing World of Warcraft to play SoaSE. You won't be disappointed with the gameplay, and won't miss a campaign either. Waiting for the demo is foolish: you will miss out on 1 full month of Sins. Believe me, it is a game to buy.

Well, even if Frogboy wouldn't be the main man at Stardock, you would notice the logo at the right of the name. That's a Stardock representative. You can trust whatever they say.

It is cheaper because it's the standard edition. The version you buy via direct download is the Collector's Edition. It gets you extras, like the music CD in MP3, some posters in PDF format and extra in-game features.

And I can only imagine the answer from Best Buy if you want your money back because your PC can't run the game...

You'd get store credit. Not a refund.

any store wont give you refund (If it open), I guess Stardock can only give you refund.

It looks as though the download version is currently only available in the Collectors Edition. I am not aware of any added features for the Collectors Edition that are built into the game (ie: you need the boxed set to get the CE added bonuses).

So it is cheaper to get the full non-CE version of the game which also allows you to re-download the game and any patches later from Stardock Central. Stardock Central is a nice way to keep a game updated. :)
