msstyle importing is driving me crazy!

i have a msstyle that i want to edit in skinstudio but for the life of me, i can't get it imported. i have tried everything on the tutorials, but i get no opening screen, no import dialog...no nothing. i tried setting the msstyles to open with skinstudio, but all it does is open skinstudio and not import anything. double-clicking does the same. there is no import option in skinstudio that i can see. i have been trying to get this to work for hours!!! i've uninstalled and reinstalled, and still, nothing.

i'm on xp and i'm using sks6 and wb6.
