Little to no engine sounds

I was just wondering if anyone is having the problem of the engines sounding either quiet or nonexistant. I have a reltek high definition audio card, with up to date vista drivers. All the other sound in the game is fine, except for the engines. I can zoom all the way in to the back of a cap ship and i can barely hear the sound if i stick my ear up to the speaker. I feel that it is not supposed to be like that, but I have not been able to find anyone else with this problem. Thanks.

I am using my standard speakers that are on my laptop. All the other sounds are fine, and are loud, but its just the engines that sound weak and low.

Hm... are others having this problem?

Personally I find the engine sounds too loud, I was considering reducing the volume again. I suspect that the low-frequency response on your laptop speakers may be quite weak... have you tried playing with headphones? (just to see if you can hear them better)

Ahhhh, thats definitely it. Do you have any idea if there is a way to fix this? I have tried the sound mixer and such, but can not find an equilizer or anything to adjust the bass. Headphones sound fine, its just a pain to wear them while playing. Thanks.
