SkinStudio6 - PROBLEMS - post them here

Stardock please read this

READ THIS FIRST!

I've created this post for those who're using SkinStudio6 (free, pro) and had some problems, something didn't work as it should or as it they thought it should, errors, bugs, things etc - you understand what.
Maybe Stardock will read this post and take care of it when launching the Pro version or if there'll be patches/fixes for it afterwards and correct the free version by launching another one or just by adding the fixes/patches for it on it's website or somewhere.
To simplify Stardock's reading and understanding please only post your problems. I'll make another post/topic for the problems solutions/how to solve them, possible solutions or just tries.

Note: Before posting please try beeing sure that you did had a problem! However, even if it's your mistake or just that your PC, Operating System etc is faulty or another reason, post it anyway :)

Hope this helps

You can find solutions, possible solutions or just tries for your problems here -> link

Some times when I click 'apply' in skinstudio to test the theme, after the theme has finished loading the skinstudio window goes completely black and the text in the title bar goes all corrupt with a not responding at the end of it. I've tried minimising and maximising the window but that doesnt fix it. But strangely when you got back to your original theme in windows blind it comes back to life again.

I'd say it does this about 90% of the time, its not the end of the world, just a bit annoying.

Im running Vista on Asus M2N32sli mobo, AMD Athlon X2, 4 gig of ram and Nvidea 8800gtx, not sure what other info I can provide for bug fixes.

Well, it might not be called a bug, but I want to be able to remove the shadow from the start panel.
Also, sometimes in several categories, when i make bottom and top margins go over each other, the program crashes. When I restart it crashes again on that category.
In the start panel, when applied, when i instead of using the mouse use the keyboard to navigate, the Mouseover background of the items shows up partly behind all items and stays there even when I close and reopen the start menu.
I use windows XP home sp2.
Hope this helps, I found skinstudio 6 really easy to use and i wish you can make it as good as possible ;)

My problems (SkinStudio6 Free):

1. I've seen this problem at others too but I still don't know how to solve it.
It's about modifing the progressbar from one with chunks (for example WindowsXP default theme(luna)) to one without them, in a smooth style (like Vista, for example, has).
SkinStudio says that if the chunk size is set to 1 and chunk gap to 0 then the progressbar will be drawn in smooth mode without chunks. But it doesn't.
Have I omit something?

2. Currently I'm making a new theme by combining diffenret parts from others. The thing is I editing 'TitleBars and WindowFrames' when I'm not sure how, just by importing another close button (in 'Edit Per Pixel Frames'>) and modifieng it's settings manually according to its orginial theme from where it became, it dissapeared! Just like that. Then I thought to start working in 'Edit UIS2 Frames' thoughting this will solve the problem. I've paused this and wanted to test something else to add (not about 'TitleBars and WindowFrames') so I've copied the theme (when opening a new theme - options on right: COPY & EDIT) and when i've saw the copy that close button appeared as nothing bad happened (this was in the copy) :)

3. It happened to me that after I copied a theme, the copy didn't had the Minimize and Maximize (Restore i think too) button.

4. It happened to me about 4 times that after going to 'XP Specific Section', SkinStudio6 didn't respond or didn't worked :)

5. Please try this! (warning - at me this shuts down SkinStudio) Go to Edit Controls > Edit Toolbar controls > Rebar controls > Background > Image > Import file > hit "..." (Browse) then hit cancel > then hit "..." (Browse) again and wait...move your cursor :) If is my mistake, I'm sorry.

It's not really a bug, but more of a pet peave. What I'd like to see in a future build, is the ability to minimize the attributes popup windows independently of SKS. It tends to get a bit tedious having to close windows, then save, and apply. If you minimize rather than close the popups, the entire GUI collapses to minimize. Like I said, it's not necessarily a bug, but it would help developers out by leaps and bounds, and would streamline the entire process a bit more.
The other thing would be to give a bit more info on the various elements and images. Since I'm new to SKS6, I always find myself opening another instance of SKS and loading a relatively default skin like Diamond, in order to sort of reverse engineer the skin so I have an idea of what I'm doing. The wiki info is woefully inadequate if not outright missing info entirely. These are not bugs, and I understand this is a post for bugs, but I figured I'd drop a post anyways, in hopes it will get read by the skinning gods and taken into consideration...lol.
