Force jump between stars

Just been playing my first large map with several star systems so didn't have this problem before, this may be a stupid question but...

How do I force ships to jump using the star route? There's a wormhole connecting the two star systems and the ships always chooses that route, but it's a heavily trafficated node which makes it impossible to sneak past single ships or small fleets. I also have a phase stabilizer in a newly conquered planet in that star system, but yet again, ships choose the wormhole, do phase stabilizers only work within the same star?

I should mention it doesn't matter if I put the ships in the same gravity well as the star or a planet with another phase stabilizer, they still take the wormhole.

Is there any solution to this?

Phase Stabilizers only work inside the same star system. I think it might be possible to edit the game files to make it possible to connect between stars, but other than that the only way to force it to go by stars is to manually send the fleet to the origin star, then tell it to jump to the target star.

If that does not work, then the only solution I can think of is to not research wormhole jumping.

Yeah, units will by default use the quickest route between two points -- if that isn't the path you want them to take, then manually order their path.

Aye cheers for the quick reply, seems like there is no way to force them to use the star route then. Moving fleet directly to the star and jumping towards the other didn't work either. Would be nice to see a option to force such a jump, as the quickest route isn't necesserily the best. I know you can use shift key to do this manually between phase lanes, but again, doesn't work when it's between stars.

Ah well I used a big fleet to escort that single colony ship I needed to get across to establish a foothold on that star system, so not such a big problem anymore, but a big hassle having a big fleet guard it :)
