Gaian Crescent: Are you *supposed* to start off this badly?

No infrastructure and 25% allegience on your *homeworld*?

I fired up the Gaian Crescent scenario under the latest version of SoaSE (1.2), and I noticed that my credits were draining out at a rate of 2.2/sec. My home planet has 10 population, *no* infrastructure, and only a 25% allegiance rate.

Now, is that how it's supposed to be? Or is something messed up on my installation of the game?

I tried 4x to get past the first 10mins but never could add any credits to my treasury. There must be some clever way to succeed but my lowly IQ couln't figure it out. LOL

upgrade civilian infrastructure, sell some ore to buy crystal for capital.

at 30 population with a capital, you will get 4.7 to 4.8 income and you should be able to build 3 of the mines within the same few minutes.

If you notice, you don't start off with a Homeworld....

Ah-ha! Now I understand how the computer was doing so much better than me so early. Thanks y'all!

I got bit by this last night myself. I played for two hours and upgraded infra to the max on every planet/asteroid I captured and the AI was still outspending me by a large margin (he had 3 worlds - I had 6). Then I noticed that his allegiance was 80% and mine was 25% everywhere, including my homeworld. I knew my homeworld wasn't a capitol, but I had no idea how much it affects tax rate through increased allegiance. Since the capitol improvement is so expensive, I was saving it until later so I could locate it on a central world.

As it turns out Gaian Crescent is the *only* scenario that starts w/o a capitol homeworld. I think this was an oversight.
