Post 1.02 Bugs Here

I didnt see a post for 1.02 bugs, so here it is.

1) Holding shift in black market no long seems to let you sell in bulk. The number stays at 100 and shift doesnt do anything.

2) Artifact planets are being displayed as having artifacts before they have even been explored. The icon showed up on a planet that I hadnt been to. Perhaps it was because I was advent and hadnt been advent before, so maybe they have some inherent skill for detecting artifacts. Just thought I should post it anyway.

3) Not really a bug, but the superweapons still dont have a quick icon in the planetary menu for activation. It would be nice to simply select the planet and then select the superweapons function and then the target.

Please post all 1.02 bugs here.

Thanks

1. Not a bug. It's listed in the patch notes as a temporary fix for the market exploit.

2. Not a bug. The artifact icon will appear even if an enemy discovers it. (Shows up something like "an object of immense power" in the text)

LOL, ok, so THATs what the patch note meant. It wasnt clear to me. Thanks.

And, ok, I guess the enemy must have had that planet. All it did really was adjust my focus toward that planet.

Well feel free to continue to use this as a 1.02 bug report. I am glad to know now that those are intentional.

Ok I'm not actually 100% sure if it's due to patch 1.02 but there you go:

1) My frame rate drop a lot when there's a notification on the top on the screen (i.e pirates are attacking etc.) I also lose a couple too when the info tab/diplomacy/criminal underground/research gets opened.

2) When I close my games, sometimes the process stays open, or it makes another process go up to 100% .I have to reboot to fix that. And it does not occur everytime. Please note that's the only game that cause this problem.

I have no virus/spywares and my computer drivers/updates are up-to-date.

Thank you

My game was running fine yesturday but since I patched it this morning I have been getting crashes.

.. mostly with events happeneing.. liek a ship going into warp or me pulling down the research menu.

I uninstalled it and re installed it wihout the patch and so far no problems.

The resurrection-ability (Advent, the colony-capital) doesn't do anything at all. The xp of the targeted ship(low level) don't change, no matter how many capitals with higher levels were destroyed in the area :(

I seem to have issues with moving "top & right" with my keyboard and mouse. I can move sometimes and at other times it sticks and I must zoom in or out to recenter things where I want it. It happened somewhat prior to the first patch but I thought maybe my system but now it is often enough for me make this post. I even uninstalled and reinstalled Vista's SP1 yesterday just to make sure it was not a mouses driver or keyboard issue.

I get this exact same problem.

I also have noticed that the ESC button no longer works. Whether or not this is a bug, it has changed from 1.01, and if anything, I would like it to be added to the list so that we can at least map the menu to it if we want. Thanks. Also, I have noticed that even in the earlier versions, there is no sound for the capital ship engines when they are travelling. I get all the other sounds, music, weapons effects, and the fighters, but the cap ships make no sound whatsoever, and I would think that if the fighters make sounds, the cap ships ought to have something to signify that they are in motion.

Patch 1.02 notes: Main Menu moved from ESC to F10 so players can press ESC to close windows without going to menu.

The ESC button used to be for the menu, now it's F10

Also have this problem, but only after starting / stopping the game 2-3 times.

Since the patch happened I have been getting weird crashes, when it ran perfectly (for the most part) before on the highest settings. The last two times I have loaded a game it has crashed as soon as I perform an action and my computer has rebooted immediately. It had crashed before but rarely and not like this.

All my drivers are up to date, I run dual 7600 GTs (in SLI mode) and a intel 3.6 Ghz single core CPU.

its now crashed 4 times, and it seemed to happen whenever I zoom in on a moving craft. 2 out of the 4 times, when I tried to zoom in on an enemy scout vehicle to see it get blown to bits by my fighters as it passed through the system, the game crashed. The first tim, I zoomed all the way in and then it crashed. The second time, I had just started to zoom and the crash happened.

This never happened before the most recent patch so I'm not sure whats going on. I do have a massive fleet in the same system.

I've noticed this in my current game as well. I'm in the upper-right corner of the map. If I move the view to somewhere else on the map, scrolling up and/or right works fine. It seems to think that at a certain point, it has hit the edge of the map and doesn't want to scroll any more, even though there are still a number of planets beyond its imagined boundaries.

Just a Cosmetic bug: The traffic nodes that surround the capital planet are no longer
symetrical. They crowd mostly one side of a hemisphere of the planet.
Started with 1.02 Great game though!

new bug: the advent ship that can spy on other planets from great distances (hell, I dont remember its name...) if you use the claravoyance ability while its proceeding TO the end of a gravity well to phase jump, it will continue going and will not enter phasespace (just tries to go to the other planet by conventional engines)

This is not a bug but something that really needs to be fixed. The game has no left-handed mouse option. It also ignores the mouse button settings for Windows XP. I can only play this game with my right hand.

Yep. It is strange to say the least. I guess I should state that it is a custom map and not a predefined one.

I can't load the save game files, it tells me that my old saves are invalid saves. I just named my saves as "seth 1" and that is it. Also, after few minutes of starting up, all of a sudden, for no apparent reasons, my faction won the game without me even doing a thing. I did not even move my drones anywhere or started to build anything. When i tried going to the main menu, the game froze on me.

Did you have the box version, and did you update to 1.01 if you did?

1.01 saves are compatible with 1.02, but straight out of the box ones are not.

It is not a bug. The devs clearly noted that old save games will not work after the update. Now some of us have old saves that are working but we are the lucky ones. The vast majority of people's games will not after the update.

There seems to be a pathfinding bug in 1.02 [likely was there before]. It happens with a frigate factory rally pointed on my cap ship [4 jumps away]. The ships coming out will pick very esoteric [and often dangerous] routes to get to the rally point- even if it's the same number of jumps, they'll wander through pirate territory. It's out of their way, and Im curious as to why they do it.

Hazards should be considered in AI pathfinding.

I'm glad I saw this before updating!
