Game Crash after 1.02 Update

Just applied the update. The only thing odd about my game is, that I'm running a custom resolution in windowed mode (1400*800). I just realized that setting the resolution doesn't matter at all, since full screening it sets the proper rendering resolution anyways. Anyhoo, the game now crashed upon loading. Even setting default resolution, and full screen, does nothing. Looks like I'm going to have to re-install to get this working again.

I have the dump file available, if this is of any use to the Stardock team.

Oh, I just tried doing Repair instead of Uninstalling/Re-Installing...but it didn't fix the problem. I'm going all the way now.

Uhoh. This is urgent now. Even after uninstall and re-installing (and re-applying the 1.02 patch), the game won't boot. I'll try contacting someone from Stardock.

Try doing it via Stardock Central if you haven't already. https://www.stardock.com/products/sdcentral

Just installed Stardock Central. It detects that I have 1.02.018.

I'll try uninstalling, and reinstalling again. Rather than updating with the binary, I'll do what you suggested and update through Stardock.

I had already emailed support right after I posted my last message. I attached the dump file along with it, in case it helps if there's an issue at hand.

I'll keep you posted. Thanks for the help.

Bad news. Even after re-installing, the game won't start without crashing...even without the update.

I tried deleting everything under Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\ before re-isntalling, but it seems that didn't help either.

I'm going to restart my PC with the startup apps disabled in MSConfig to check if it's a software conflict. If that doesn't work, I'm guessing the problem lies within some persistent game data. Even after re-installing, it's clear some game data remained on the system, as my CD-Key is still tied to the new installation.

Game is fine after a computer restart now. I have absolutely no clue what the cause of the problem was.

Anyways, problem fixed for now. I'll see if it ever persists.

it tells you to restart after you update, thats the first thing you should do (with any error in general).

I also got a mini-dump warning, so I restarted as the first step.

Not sure if it's related, but my game has crashed after watching 2 replays (v1.01s I think) somewhere around the 10th minute, each producing a minidump.
