Um most people have been downloading over 300kb a sec maybe your connection sucks?

You can try another server.
In Stardock Central, Tools | Settings | Internet | Current servers | Choose the other one.

i personally saw 800kb/sec...

Something is almost certainly wrong with your connection - I downloaded my copy last night at over 400kb/sec.

Umm no I pay allot of money for my connection and did speed tests and all the speed tests showed a dowload speed om 612 mb a sec. Infact stardock it's self downloaded in no more than a minute. Then it downloaded more stuff and again only took about a minute. Now the dowload is not even going 1 kb a sec this is anaceptable. I a long time ago had dialup that downloaded faster than this. When I had dialup a download would go 3 or more kb a sec. Yet I am getting around .66kb a sec so that is slow even for dialup.

Then you're a liar. Nobody on a consumer line gets even 600 megabits, much less megabytes.

I dunno , I was getting a pretty crappy speed the other day , between 15kb and 150kb , on a connection where my usual speed is 300kb... :NOTSURE:

It has to be some setting for it to be going that low. Something isn't communicating correctly but its probably neither your connection or star docks its just something isn't communicating the way its suppose to. I would try different server and make sure nothing would be conflicting with it.

If you are getting less than a kilobyte on ANY system then thats your connection's problem.

Its gotta be something with your provider then or something. I and many others got 800kb/s

well at the speed I am going I am lucky to get this game in 2 weeks. It would be faster to order a copy of it. But stardock said they will only give me 75% of what I paid for the downloaded version back. Which is just a kick in the face. I wanted to cancel my dowlnolaod order and buy a actual phisical copy of the game since it would come to me faster.

Amen i don't know any where you can get a download speed of 612 mb a sec. And why would you pay that much for a service for internet if you are playing games? Thats a bit over excessive don't you think if it actually dled that fast.

Have you tried downloading from other servers?

there is no other servers you have to get it through the stardock program.

You can change the server in stardock central under tools > settings > internet.

it speed it up a bit but its still slow it is going 15kb a sec.

Something is wrong with your connection then. I had to uninstall, and redownload.

I have your standard cable modem offering from TimeWarner (roadrunner).

First download (opening night), was @ 800kb.
Second download (yesterday) was @ 500kb.

You said you had done some speedtests to confirm it wasn't your connection. Can you post a screenshot or other information to help diagnose your problem?

Um... you paid for a game, not for bandwidth

And given that I downloaded at over 100 KB/s monday, during peak download speeds, and 500 KB/s last night, I think the problem is on your end, not theirs.

But if I cant get the game what good is it? Besides you seen the speedtest.

1.) Check your firewalls. Even behind a school connection which actively throttles connections, I still managed 5-45k p/second.

2.) Speaking of throttling, if you download quite a bit, some ISPs will throttle your connection.

3.) Check your firewall. This just smacks of either a firewall or router issue if you were able to download the client just fine, but the SDC download is going that slow.

4.) Learn some manners. Also, learn what you're buying. You paid your ISP for bandwidth, you paid SD/IC for a game.

EDIT: You've also lied about your connection speed. Congrats.

Which doesn't tell us much (For all we know you could be sitting right next to the server, and get an amazing speed from said speed test. Where as reality of the internet is vastly different).
You'd be better off doing a traceroute to Stardocks download server.

Perhaps Frogboy or Yarlen can shed some light on the IP/Address to trace for.

And what was said before is completely right, .11 kbs on any speed connection is a problem on your end. You need to speak with your provider, not these guys. Call the provider's tech support and they should be able to help you. The only other possibility is that you live in one of those countries that has had problems with infrastructure due to the undersea cables being cut

Excuse me no I did'nt. Where do you go off calling me a lair? I used speed tests from many different areas that was just one of them and that was not bad. That is pretty good if you ask me. Besides I cannot have the download go real slow it will take days to get the game. I just downloaded a game from direct 2 drive in 10 minutes. Yes this game is going right now 25kb a sec if I am lucky. It is about 14 kb a sec but shoots up to about 25kb but is not going real fast.
