(RESOLVED)Resolution<

Greetings,

I have installed the game and I wanted to change a resolution, but the game only offers me 1650x1080 and higher. How van I change the resolution to a normal one (1600x1200 or 1280x1024)?

1600x1200 and 1280x1024 are resolutions for normal monitors. 1650x1080 is a widescreen resolution, so I'm assuming you have a wide screen monitor - in which case, you can't use 1600x1200/1280x1024, you get widescreen resolutions instead ;)

I don't think that is entirely true Annarar11. I am running wide screen (1900x1200) and I can select resolutions from 1024x768 all the way up, weather it be wide-aspect rations to standard 4:3 ratios.

Perhaps not, then. I use a normal monitor primarily, but I don't remember being able to select non-widescreen resolutions for my second widescreen.

If I'm wrong then I stand corrected, though :)

I believe the game offers only what windows reports your system can do--do you have any others as options in windows' display properties?

If you're using a resolution that's not listed, edit your user.setting file and manually set your full-screen resolution. Save the file and start the game; that will do it.

XP: C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Setting

Vista: C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Setting

VideoFullScreenWidth 1024
VideoFullScreenHeight 768

Thanks Yarlen, manual change helped. Ii must be some kind of a bug as Windows can run from 640x480 to 1600x1200 on my 19inch CRT monitor. I have had no problem in other games. Maybe SOASE just does not agree with my GC drivers. And no, I am not going to install new ones just because of one game. Current ones are from November 2007 and my card is 7900GT so it is not the latest peace of technology sa well.

End of SINSFather's quote

Go into explorer options and turn on "Show hidden files/folders". You'll see AppData then.
