Multiplayer trouble

I am having trouble getting multiplayer to work. I've created an account and when I try to join a game I get network errors, can't connect with host or server. Then when I do get in a game, I have horrible lag my ping is between 2000-7000. This doesn't make any sense because I have high speed ethernet. Please help!

I did some research on this tonight and what you're seeing are games in progress that haven't yet disappeared from the list.

So it's not that you can't connect to them because of a problem on your end, it's that they're already started but haven't yet gone from the ICO list. It's something we're going to see if we can address in the first update.

Ok thank you, but that still doesn't solve my problem of massive ping and lag in the games I am able to join in iron clad online. I have a decent computer, that is able to handle sins no problem. I also have high speed Ethernet provided by my college, would that cause my massive lag? I know my internet's fast enough, I downloaded sins at over 7 mb/s. I also don't have a router, have vista and tried disabling my firewall and I had no other programs running to slow things down. So any suggestions on whats wrong and how I could fix it so I could play online?
