Dual screen windows

I have been using OD free for a while and just upgraded to the plus version today

I have multiple docks(2) setup on my dual screen machine (28" & 22")

one main dock on my large 28" screen
and one smaller dock on the 22" for ftp programs, explorer, and other utility programs

my questions is...

When having a dock on your secondary screen,
is it possible to have the program windows open up on the 2nd screen when the icon on the second screen is clicked?

the icons do exists on both docks

and right now on the 2nd screen when I click the ftp propgram it opens up on the main screen.
(or it opens up on the screen it was last used on)

can OD assign which screen to open up which programs regardless of where it was opened last?

That isn't a setting in ODP. In most cases you have to rely on the cache to remember window location. If you are looking to open say Photoshop on monitor 1 by clicking on the monitor 1 dock, and then later open it on monitor 2 with the monitor 2 dock that isn't a current setting/feature. The program would simply open on the side that it always opens on. Sorry.

If that wasn't what you were asking about let me know.

It is possible... you just need to get a copy of UltraMon--a wonderful utility that anyone with a multiple-display system should have. Among a slew of other features, UltraMon will do dual-display wallpapers & screensavers (a different one for each display, if you want) as well as allow you to create special shortcuts in which you can specify which monitor the target will display upon. It's very, very handy and I couldn't live without it ;)

Find it here: http://www.realtimesoft.com/ultramon/

Yep, UltraMon is a handy tool for multi-monitor users.

fauxquixot, I have seen UltraMon mentioned here in the forums before, is it fully compatible with Stardock products? Any problems with it interfacing okay with your graphics/video card and it's software/drivers? I think a lot of people these days have at least tried dual monitores if not currently running them.

Yeah I know I can click the link, but it's much better talking to someone who uses the software.

The only incompatibilities I'm aware of is;
1. UM's titlebar buttons don't play well with WindowBlinds. They can't be skinned. They don't show at all on perpixel frames. (I find them unnecessary anyway)
2. Smart Taskbar will not be skinned on second monitor.

Thanks Koasati.  ;)

Note that some of these Ultramon issues were addressed in the latest beta released just last week. I have not tested this to see if these minor bugs were squashed, but you might want to check it out. :)
