Problem with DeskScapes 2.0 Beta

Does anyone know how to get DeskScapes to pause when a window is maximized?

Spank me if I'm wrong, but doesn't DeskScapes virtually turn off when the wallpaper isn't showing?

I know that when I have a resource intensive dream running it uses less and less resources as I cover it with windows.

On a single monitor system Deskscapes will pause when a window is maximized.

I have a single monitor system Deskscapes dose not pause when I have a window maximized. My CPU load is 35% when Deskscapes is running and 2% when it is paused. If I have a maximized window the load is still about 35%, but if i first pause Deskscapes by right clicking on the desktop and then maximize a window it drops down to about 3%.

One thing i have noticed is that the dream will pause when the active window is maximised, but if you open another non-maximised window over the maximised window, then dream will start playing again.

Kolban what dreams are you currently running?

liquidguru: Thanks, I had been using the cpu meter from the control panel which was not maximized. I just tried a gadget cpu meter and it showed that the dream did pause.

Seabass: I have tried the dynamic dreams that are included with Deskscapes 2.0 Beta, and two video dreams I made with DreamMaker. The dynamic dreams use about 45% cpu while the video dreams use about 35%.

You're welcome.

I would prefer it if, when any window is maximised, the dream will stay paused, irrespective of whether another window is opened over the top of it. When i am rendering video in my maximised application (Premier Pro) it will bring up a small window over the top of the maximised app to show the progress and that small window triggers the dream to start and therefore use CPU. At the moment I unload any dream before I start editing as a work around.

any time on a DREAM you can just right click
and click on pause , and then resume when you
want it in motion again - it does take the CPU usage
way down when you pause it ... ;)

Kolban: Dynamic dreams should not use 45% cpu.

How many monitors do you have?

liquidguru: Hopefully since Deskscpes 2.0 is still beta, Stardock will correct this problem by the final version.

Neil Banfield: I only have a single monitor.

Can't replicate that issue on this end. Been trying massive file sizes. I hate to suggest the simplest responce but have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling yet?

My DeskScapes pauses on maximised window after a short time but will not resume unless I change the scape altogether , hmm, I'm gonna have wait before I show it off. "Hey check this out- A TABLET PC ,look at me sketchin' and wait for it, moving paper on home premium!" - ;p " cool...it's Vista and it don't work, hey everyone check out the vista user, and look it's being used by a computer illiterate - stick to real paper, Picassole! ." - please stardock save me from impending embarrassment.
