This is about as close to Sins as that other text based game Sins was accused of copying. Which is to say, nothing alike.

ROFL Lost Empire has been out for months. This is a remake with better graphics. How is this a sins rip-off? I know for a fact the game is totally different gameplay wise from sins.

yeah I just saw the gameplay video, mabey does seem a little more Gal Civ2, Diddnt realize it was turnbased at first.

It's a text based game?

That game looks interesting -- maybe I'll grab it after I'm done with Sins (well, need a break from it anyway).

nah, a text based game with a somewhat similar name gave a cease and desist letter that was good for a few laughs a while back.

I'm a 4X addict. I only recently discovered GalCiv2, (I plan to actually buy the gold edition using my other 5 tokens when I pre-order Sins... as soon as my cheque comes), and don't want to miss out on this one too. I'll most definitely get it.

Sins and GS are really to very different games on so many levels.

GS? Do you mean GC as in GalCiv?

This thread reminds me of a push-poll.

I am helping to test the Immortals beta and it is very different to Galciv2 and nothing like Sins at all.

The background to this game's story really sounds like a rip off of the Babylon 5 background stroy, and the feel of it has been done to death. For a game having 5,000 star system, i hope people's system can handle it. I remembered play swords of the stars and the game literally froze in between turns. To be honest, what is the difference between Lost Empires and Space Empires 5. It will be hard to beat Galciv 2. But then, given Paradox interactive has a history of making turn-based strategy games, i hope this one does not play like one of their eurpoean WWII rips offs.

Will there be any planetary invasions allowed for this game, and also...will there be ground combat allowed. Anyone know??

I know. But when one is multitasking and doing so rapidly proof reading does not often enter the command cue. This situation is further compounded with doing so at 3:00AM or later after long days. Like now... :NOTSURE:

Lost empires could be like sins in theory, but lost empire does not allow you to control your battles, just watch them unfold, and its turn based which gives it a -10  :D

no there wont as the races in SINS are smart.. any resistance gets a big laser to its face from space!

Yeah, After reading through more reviews (previews) of Lost:Immortals it seems more like GalCiv 2 then SINS. Looks alright though, Definatly a game i'd have to demo before i buy it.

'no there wont as the races in SINS are smart.. any resistance gets a big laser to its face from space!'

Diggzz, I was asking about the possibility of ground combat with regards to Lost Empires, not about SINS.
