Why is it that none of the stuff show up in videos?

Ok, here's what I mean. When I use on-screen recording programs such as HyperCam 2.0 and try to show my friend how cool my computer looks with all the fancy stardock stuff, the fancy stuff is removed (think of it as a vampire trying to reflect himself in a mirror).

Other then the obvious WindowBlind which shows itself in the recording, Obejectdock and CursorXP aren't. The cursor is shown in its default windows form and Objectdock doesn't appear AT ALL.

Why does this happen? Just wondering, if anyone knows, I'd appreciate the help.

It has more to do with the recording programs than CXP and OD.

Try this...open MS Paint and minimize > make sure OD & CXP are visible then press the PrintScreen button > paste into MS Paint............are they missing?

The recording programs only record a specific "layer" of the desktop. Your statement is true of many customization programs which use different methods to project themselves on the desktop.

I did what you told me and you know, it is very weird.
I just figured out that the Windows FX effects can be recorded in the videos, however, are not shown when print-screening them, at least not the animation (ex: I print screen the opening/closing of a window in the middle of its animation, when print-screened, only shows the window as fully opened or fully closed).

On the other hand, ObjectDesktop and CursorXP DO show themselves in PrtScr but not videos.
Another thing I noticed about CursorXP is that while it shows itself in PrtScr, the default Windows cursor can NOT be shown in PrtScr. That is something I am yet to understand as well.

It's a pretty technical area but just googling "video overlay" brought up a bunch of hits that might help you including this Wikipedia WWW Link

It's not exactly technical for me, however, it doesn't teach me how to fix things, but thanks anyways =P.
