A few ship questions

Hi guys. With no real unit guide around, and much of the info I can gather from old posts now obsolete, I just had a few RTS sorts of questions for anyone who has played a recent version of Sins.

- I read something about ship jumping and antimatter penalties. How badly drained are ships after jumping?

- How many fighters/bombers can the defensive hangers hold? What about the carrier cruiser and carrier capital ship? Is it true that only flak frigates and other fighters can target strike craft?

- It sounds like the Vulkoras and Sova can drop turrets. Are there any other deployable abilities like this?

- How important are siege units (like frigates or those siege cap ship abilities). It looks like it takes a while for enemy reinforcements to travel accross the galaxy, are the regular ship weapons that slow at levelling enemy planets?

- I read something about the scout ships having an "Explore" ability. What does this do?

- There was talk of mitigation to discourage focus fire so long as the shields are up. Did that ever get applied to hull strength as well?

I guess these kinds of things are quickly learned once ingame, but they are hard to tell from just looking at screenshots and movies (Multianna your videos are great but they are so zoomed out I can't figure out a lot of these RTS elements).

Thanks to anyone who can clear some of this up for me.

Hi :D

We do not really know, since thee devs could have changed that, but in Beta 4 at the beginning of a match you wont have much antimatter, since you regain it very slow and you loose 120 units of it with each jump with a maximal Antimatteramout between 200-300.
Its really hard, but only at the beginning of a match, after several researching you wont face any Antimatter problems at all... Antimatter, it doesen matter ;p

Hmmm.... lalalala.... i cant tell you right now but I could tell how to write a Database Application :p

Nope, thats their speical ability. But the Advent will have some too, I think.
Hmm, but TEC scouts can drop a sensor on a planet, so that you can see whats going on there even if your not in that system.

"Normal Ships" cant bomb a Planet only the caps and the sieg frigs.... thats what we know.

- I read something about the scout ships having an "Explore" ability. What does this do?

You can right klick on the explore Button and they will automaticly explore the system youre in till the die or till you owne that system completly.
That makes things easy for us who dont like "click fests".

Do not know right now, but as I said.... I could show you how to write a Database Application ;P

Wow, some of those I had a few totally wrong ideas about (I thought "explore" might have been something you needed to tag new planets with before colonizing). The antimatter drain sounds severe early on, but I guess it's a good thing for keeping enemies out of your hair in the early game. Thanks for the answers.

well, you can actually jump with depleted Anti-matter, just not use ship abilities.
In the early game, this is what prevents you from madly rushing to colonise every planet in sigh within a few minutes.

Antimatter has a lot to do with the sun, ships at the sun recharge at a much higher rate, as I recall...
