Did anyone else notice that in Brad's Blog $39.95 is the retail price, but Digital Download only is listed at $49.95 in the Stardock Store?

Just wanted to point out the $ discrepancy... someone may want to fix that.

Amazon do sell those pirce too, but it's not CE,I guess it's has to do with CE.
After all, you can only order the CE from Stardock, cant you?

Brad is the founder and president of SD unless he changed his position since I last checked. He might be the EP for Sins however but certainly not SD.

@Brad - quick edit your post. This jumped out at me almost as soon as it loaded:

"start of the art" methinks it should be "state-of-the-art" or you could simply say Spartan's PC.

I dont think so, given he is the founder of the company and president. EP to the best of my knowledge in business history has traditionally been reserved for the "money guy" for a project. In recent years it has been given to a steward of OPM on behalf of a collective group or entity. But I cant think of a single example where a founder and/or president of a company took or even professionally identified with the EP title for the company in question. Of course I could be wrong as my knowledge is not encyclopedic by any means but it does seem like a big huge step down in ones' own company.

There's no discrepancy. $39.95 is the non-CE retail price, $49.95 is the CE.

I am officially the Executive Producer of Sins of a Solar Empire at Stardock.  I am not the Executive Producer of Stardock. :)

So then why are Digital Download Only purchasers being charged the CE price at 49.95 but wont get the collectors edition goodies?

I don't really mean to be a jerk, I personally feel the $49.95 I paid are worth every cent, collectors edition or not, but there is an unexplained price difference there... I just want some clarification up so I can "asplain" it to my buddies. Is it really going to cost more for DL only (no box, no goodies) than it will be to pick up a box at retail?

The digital download is kept on your SDC account which means you can download it whenever you want. CDs , you can lose.

That is what I figured. It is the most logical after all.

You'll be able to upgrade to the retail box if you only ordered the digital download for a small fee to cover materials.

The simplest answer without going into detail is that retailers get rather angry when you compete with them. GalCiv II cost more direct than at retail also.
