WB6 wont run

You must re-boot

I uninstalled and re-installed thru the SDC...Now it keeps asking me to reboot !!!

The message says: "The Machine must be rebooted after installing WB6" and then asks me to disable any Registry protection and spyware i have ???

What the heck is going on with WB, it used to be a simple process to install, I really dont want to disable my firewall - spyware - or any other security programs i have, just to install WB6.

Not only that it says i have to re-install the program, does that mean i have re-download it again thru thr SDC.

I have re-booted 3 times so far.

Cheers

This is a common problem as is the fact that some people cannot get WB to skin. Read the forums and you will see various workarounds and suggestions that have not worked for me so far.

As a subscriber, fully paid up to Object Desktop, I am getting frustrated as I have not known anything like this and I am too experiencing the reboot screen. Having done several re-installs I still have the same problem. I have now exceeded my activations.

I sent in a request for support to stardock on the 11th and I am still awaiting a reply.

I hope that for all that are experiencing these problems that stardock can sort it out. This is a really good bit of software and I would hate to have to turn to an alternative.

These types of events are teh exceptoions, not the rule.

Jeffo, your security might be preventing the install routine ot complete.  You can turn it back on after the install.  Contact support@stardock.com if you still have problems.

terryb, did you get an autoresponse from your request?  If not it may have gotten lost in spam/junk-mail hell.  Go to stardock.helpserve.com to create a case.  It'll be sure to get through then.

Terryb someone must have already reset your activations because I find none at all listed under your account.

Jeffo please try us at support@stardock.com. One quick trick to try is to make sure your download isn't corrupted. Try uninstalling your software as well as Stardock Central. Then restart the machine and reinstall both just to be safe.

Thanks for replies...I have sent a support request to stardock with the info they requested.

I removed and re-downloaded SDC, Then re-downloaded WB6, but it still would not work.

I finally got WB6.02 installed...I manually downloaded it from the address in the original e-mail that stardock sent. But it's still the same problem with text on buttons being cut off, If i use the font tool in WBConfig and make the font smaller it seems O.K. but difficult to read.

Just waiting on a reply from Stardock now :)
