Play Beta With Tokens And Other Questions

I was browsing gamespot.com looking for my next game when I found Sins Of A SOlar Empire. I have to say that this game looks awesome and Im about to purchase it through Stardock Cental. I have a few questions that I hope that some of you beta players can answer.

If I buy it with tokens, can I play it RIGHT NOW!?  :D

Is there a large player base? Is it easy to find a multiplayer game?

How long do multiplayer games last and what is the typical galaxy size?

Thanks in advance...

Yes.

So-so -- most people are in the SDC chat channel, not the in-game lobbey, and it can (sometimes) be hard to find a game. For example, I have a really hard time because most of our players are east coast, and I'm west.

It varies, wildly. Plan on ploppping down an hour, minimum, but they can last a very long time past that, especially if players are equally skilled.

I have yet to play a game that has been under 1 hr... My average is 1hr 40 min on a small map vs 1 hard AI. Then again I like to research a lot :CONGRAT:

1vs1 is around 1 and a half hours, 2vs2 with equal players, is usually 2 hours minimum to about 3 hours.

Oh yeah, its pretty hard to find a game, on the weekends there is usually a game going on, but it can take several hours to find enough people to get going.

But that should change with release.

I've had a few 1v1s under an hour. Depends a lot on the map size and playstyle.

True Kyro... I do love to research... Makes the game a LOT longer...

The game hasn't been released yet, so we can't fairly answer this one. However, if the activity of a tiny sample of beta testers is any indicaction of all game-owners, we can look forward to an extremely busy community after release :)

I'm confused about buying with tokens and getting in the Beta. I thought the beta had closed. I've got several friends who might have gone ahead and bought it if they could get in.

Buy tokens, you get in the beta. Order the other way (without tokens) and you don't get the beta.

I was confused too. I bought the game with tokens only 2 days ago and was able to download and play immediately. Why are you still reading this!? Go download the game!

Nay, he is only the king of ' :SURPRISED: ' posts. And even then, more of a queen really. It's hard to tell most times.
