Laptops and Object Dock

I have noticed that of late I have been getting more emails asking about drag when using Object Dock on new laptops. Truth be told I am finding that 90% of the time it is due to bad drivers. In several cases I have been directing people here:

Now of course you take your own risks but nearly all the customers that have had this issue have reported good things to me. Almost all the drivers are company made. Like I said non company bound sites are at your own risk but if you were noticing some drag on your laptop with ODP (or any other software) check out these laptop drivers.

That was a good tip. Although I wasn't having problems with anything in this regard I did find a working 64bit driver for my LG R500 notebook. Thanks, Jon

Glad to hear it. Got a few emails from people saying this didn't make a dramatic difference but the quality of smoothness is very noticeable. Spread the word if you know those whom can use this. Stardock products or not.

Just wondering how many of the laptop users are using Vista with only 1 gig of ram? I saw some issues with lag on my laptop running only 1 gig of ram. I have 4 now and everything's gravey.

You would be surprised. The driver updates are a really nice boost to my old junker running XP.

There is a utility that will scan the machine for you. Or you can just use the look up tool and then go search for the download instead of using the automated tool. I think there is a cost for the automation in there.

Thanks, Seabass. I just spent quite a while doing some research on this site looking for a better driver for my ASUS laptop. Came up with something that is much better than the two-and-half year old job offered by ASUS. Thanks for the pointer  :)
