Metaverse Submission?

I won a game through Cultural victory and got to the end game, then it just exited to the start screen, without asking me if I wanted to submit my score. I was connected through the internet via DSL, I was registered on the game and on Metaverse. What is necessary for me to be able to submit game scores?

I have the same question !

More specifically :

1) I'm sure my connection works because I have IE and Stardock Central logged in the background
2) When I end my game, it doesn't allow me to submit my score
3) When, from galciv's main menu, I click on 'Metaverse', IE claims it can't connect and lets me choose between 'Work offline' and 'Retry'. If I click on Retry it works fine - I see the metaverse, but my score is not there...

Do you have any ad protection software or similar in the background? Some people had problems with this blocking Galciv submitting metaverse scores or opening IE windows.

I have ad blocking software running (Proxomitron) but it does not make a difference if I disable it.
I managed to submit one game so far with the inofficial patch and dll installed.
Now it doesn't work anymore. :-(
This morning I found that there is another new build available. I'm going to try that tonight.

It would be nice if there was some feedback after pressing the submit button. Right now you have no idea wether it submitted anything at all or if it just submitted garbage for some reason.

I don't even see any 'Submit' button ! When I win, I see the civ overview&graphs, then I click on 'Done' and it takes me back to galciv's main menu.

Benoit,
your probelm definitely seems to be that the game is failing to realise that it is connected to the internet. I use a modem and so actually need to alt+tab out of the game at the overview graph stage, connect to the internet, alt+tab back into the game and then click 'done' for the submission screen to appear.

They could do with modifying this a bit.

Benoit - Just so you know, the submission screen comes up (when it does, still iffy for me even with the 1.01a update) AFTER you press "done" on the summary/graph screen.

Ok thanks for the info, I was still looking for a hidden Submit button on the summary screen ;)... Anyway that doesn't solve my problem ... They should change the way GalCiv detects whether there's a connection. Or they should make a 'retry' button. As I said, I have the same problem with IE but IE lets me Retry and then in works.

The most weird thing in this story is that SDC has no problem at all. So the problem would certainly be solved by copy-pasting some code from SDC into GalCiv .... argh, if only it was free software, I would parhaps already have fixed it myself.

Actually, it would be nice if one could just save the results and send them in later. I play on my laptop at home, and only connect it to the Internet at work - so until I decide to try and connect it from home and use the included modem, I won't submit any game results.

Not that I'm getting any incredible results - I'm slowly working my way up the AI levels. Won two "Fool" games, working on my first "Beginner" ;)
