Windows Vista and Boot skin

I keep hearing different things. Some say there is never going to be a bootskin Vista and some say they are still working on it.  :NOTSURE: Is there ever going to be a vista boot skin? Or they still working on it? It's been over a year now and I am starting to wonder! :(  Thanks!

no vista bootskin app yet but people have found ways of creating a bootskin for windows vista, just do a search on the net, you'll find it. It's a bit of an involved process though and since it involves alot of manual changes, no guarantee of a stable vista environment once you've performed the required changes.

There will be no Vista support. In fact, BootSkin now wipes out XP too. Just abandon this spyware.

bypasscompulsory just what are you talking about?

The BootSkin software that is available from Stardock just works fine with most XP systems. In fact there are three versions available. It has always been a question of dealing with your systems bios as to whether it would run on XP. It is not spyware.

As was posted by another moderator for the same comment you made in another forum post

bypasscompulsory:

...another thread was not needed for your gripe.

You had a bad run with bootskin.

It will not work on all computers.

There is NO malware/spyware/virus or ANYTHING harmful there.

There are instructions in THIS thread on how to remove the program if it does not work for your computer.

I have removed your post. Please do not post another."

*** There is NO malware/spyware/virus or ANYTHING harmful there. It will not work on all computers.

Obviously, your computer is one it will not work on.

You have made your point with your dissatisfaction.

  Spyware???

What gave you that thought?! Stardock and spyware are never in the same sentence--unless the sentence is Stardock does not distribute spyware.

It worked fine for me, and I do hope that a BootSkin Vista comes out.

I don't think you are in any position to talk about what we will support in the future.

As far as your "claims" about Bootskin, they are false.  Bootskin is not spyware, and does not contain any spyware.  If you read the bootskin web site you will see bootskin does not work with all systems.  Just because it does not work on yours does not mean it's "spyware".

You might want to be aware of this first.  After SP1 . . fail.

Which is why hacking Windows is a bad thing and why Stardock is ahead of the game for enhancing, not hacking.

From logon to shutdown,Stardock has me covered, but I sure as hell wouldn't call it spying. ;) Vista bootscreen support would be a nice addition,I must admit. :D

I keep finding programs to change the boot logo but ALL say not to be used with SP1, what if you are on SP1 or want to upgrade at a later date, any ideas as to how to change the boot logo for Windows Vista Ultimate with NO adverse affects longterm?

What a punk!

Unfortunately you must have had a really bad experience with bootskin, my condolenses, I've had nothing but great experiences with it - in fact, it's actually what brought me to this site to begin with!
