Deletingproblems

Evenin' guys,

A couple of weeks ago I downloaded Stardock Windowblinds, the trial version for free. Everything went fine and I quite liked the design. Today, however, my trial period expired and I tried to delete it.

The only problem: It was impossible to delete one single file, going by the name of WbSrv.dll.

As I'm quite an idiot when it comes to computers and stuff I've got no idea what to do now.

Any hints?

Thanks in advance,

Jenny

The annoying but easy way I prefer is to go into safe mode and delete the file. Tap F8 as it boots up, delete as per normal. Restart.

how did you try and delete it?, the best way to uninstall is through the add/remove programs in control panel. also did you change to the widows default theme before deleteing, this must be done first as once you do that Wbsrv.dll will no longer be in use and will be deleted along with the rest of the program. it sounds as if you didnt do this and as Wbsrv.dll is still in use windows will not let you delete it. my advice is to reinstall windowblinds and use it to apply the default windows theme. this will disable windowblinds completely, then use add/remove programs to uninstall it. on a side note, if you have done all the steps above and still cannot delete Wbsrv.dll then there is a little program called unlocker that will unlock any file and allow you to delete it. do a search online for it. good luck :)

It worked with the Unlocker program (I guess ;) ) Thank you!

For any locked modules (.dll, .ocx) you're trying to delete, you can actually just rename them and restart your computer. At that point you should be able to delete them.

Otherwise yes, Unlocker is great  :CONGRAT:
