Does this happen with every skin you try to apply?

When you download a logon skin you should just be able to double click the skin and it should appear in the logon studio program.

Are you using XP?

What happens when dble clicking on the logon skin itself will it automatically bring up the logon studio then show the new skin in it's preview window,if not i'd just delete logon, use ccleaner to clear the registry,go into program files delete the left over logon folder & reinstall

ps: you don't have a spyware app blocking it do you

Strange. I would uninstall logon studio but save the skins that you have or want to keep. Then reboot your machine and then reinstall Logon Studio and see what happens then. Don't add the ones you saved yet, keep those to one side for the moment. Then go and download a skin and see if you can apply it. If that goes well add the other skins you saved - one at a time - and see how that goes. I suspect that your current Logon Studio has become corrupt somehow. Best bet is start again with a fresh install. It could also be that one of your current skins is corrupting the program hence the one by one step for the saved skins. Good Luck  :)

You can also try renaming the .logonxp file to .zip, unzipping it and putting the folder in C:\Program Files\Wincustomize\Logon Studio, then open Logon Studio and it should be in the list of available logons.

For some reason, that is the only way it works for some people. :)

I think that's to do with zip file associations/recognitions on some people's comps.  A .logonxp file is simply a renamed zip ...;)

why does the one work and the other not?

True, sometimes a .zip has one or more logons inside....different resolutions or standard and widescreen logons.

If it is a .logonxp file though, renaming it to.zip and unzipping it should leave you a folder with .bmps, a theme.ini and a uifile.txt inside. That's the folder to put in the Logon Studio folder. :)

I used to have this problem a few years back. I always figured it was due to having more than one compression proggy installed on my Laptop. I don't think this is the case as I have three different ones installed now ;p

I've never used a compression program so I really don't know. Never had a laptop either, I just get bigger hard drives for my desktop now because they are so cheap. ;)
