Questions About Plus

I've been using the free version for about a year now and love it. Now I'm ready to move up to the Plus version, but I have two questions first that I'm hoping someone can address for me. I couldn't quite answer them from the info available on the site.

1. Will I be able to set up a tabbed dock such that the tabs affect only part of my dock and not the other part? For example, I'd like to have the icons on one part of the dock be always available while the other section would vary depending on which tab I've clicked. If I can't separate out a dock like this, will I essentially be able to create two docks side by side at the bottom of my screen that look like one big dock except that the one will be tabbed and the other will not?

2. Will I be able to create cascading dock icons? For example, suppose I want one icon on my dock for Microsoft office. When I click it, I'd like to have additional icons pop up above it for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. Will this be possible? Or will I need to simply create a shortcut on my primary dock that opens a window containing my secondary icons?

Thanks in advance for the help!

to answer part 1. i don't think you can have a half tabbed dock and half zoomer, it's either all tabbed or all zoomer.

part 2. yes you are able to have fly out menus on a tabbed dock or a zoomer.

Tabbed docks are seperate from standard docks.

It's possible, but will require a bit of experimentation, since tabbed docks have tabs. ;)

Sounds like a job for the Flyout menu, or perhaps the Stacks & Grids docklet.

Hope this helps.

This could be done. It wouldn't be difficult but you have to make sure the zoomer dock didn't have any kind of zoom effect on the icons, that way, the dock wouldn't move. For instance, a no frills zoomer dock that has straight edges, no drop shadow or anything, and the same for the tabbed dock, adjust the positioning on the screen so they are right next to each other would be easy. If you had some graphics skills, you could make the two docks with some frills (highlights, dropshadow etc.) so that when they were put together on the screen, they'd still look like one.
