So, when the AI is picking hulls to create ships, how smart is it?

I'm curious, if we spent a lot of time balancing and testing out hulls, could we make it so the AI knew that choosing one Medium hull over the other was the better option?

Since you can change the Cost, Size, HP, Speed, Sensor, etc for hulls, could you make it so it choose the better Medium hull over the outdated version?

We are looking into balancing things out between races in our mod, and making it so as you advance in the Hull Techs you not only get larger ships, but you get more efficent ship hulls of the previous sizes.

Are we wasting are time? Or does the AI take into account the Cost/Size/HP/Speed/Sensor information as well?

I'd like to know this as well. If I make the trade module small enough to fit on Medium hulls will the AI take advantage of this to have smaller more sturdy trade ships?

I'm trying to find ways to make a mod that breaks away from the standard game abit when it comes to the ships. Having the AI use armed tradeships was one idea I wanted to do.
