Hey, I need help..

I have a set of icons at the top of my screen (shortcuts for my programs) and Im happy about that.. What I also want to do is when I click one of the icons I want another icon to appear over the taskbar to notify that the program is running.. I don't want it to show on either the taskbar or system tray.. just over the taskbar.. Is that possible?

If so, is it possible to have system tray icons to show above the taskbar as well?

Try this:

Create a second dock and set it to run Dislpay open windows along with my icons, under the Dock Contents tab.

Remove all other icons on that dock.

Set the dock to the bottom of the screen, then click on positioning then tweak the align left and right slider so that the dock is posistioned over your taskbar. You can use the appearance tab to adjust the size down to something the size of the taskmanager.

That should do what you are looking for.
