How do I stop WindowBlinds from loading on startup?

All I can find is "Unload WindowBlinds" by right-clicking on the tray icon after it's already loaded. I need to stop it from loading when I reboot.

Okay, just a little confusing here, do you not want WindowBlinds to install anything on startup and reboot? Do you not want to use WB's at all?

I don't belive there is an option to turn off WB from starting with the system. It is a all or nothing program after all. Only way to stop it would be to turn it off in the msconfig window. You can get that by hitting start run then type msconfig.

I too am wondering why you would want to use the software like this.

It's not really what you are asking for but open up WB configuration and select (if you are running XP) either Windows Classic or Windows XP Style. When you start up or reboot it will not load a WB skin.

yep - WB's version of 'don't run at start'

no reason to run if you're using a ms default skin

A better idea than my own to be sure. I still wonder at what the purpose of having WB installed but not running right away?

What's with all these people who want to kill WindowBlinds and stop CursorXP? Why even bother in the first place?

I want to temporarily turn it off because on Vista everything works fine when I turn off UAC, but when I turned UAC back on and rebooted there was no taskbar. I figured it's probably WindowBlinds & the Molten theme not working well on Vista. UAC breaks a lot of stuff that it's not entirely obvious will be broken and makes Vista a nightmare. Turn off UAC and Vista actually becomes a nice OS again.

deleyd, you should have told the reason for you wanting to do this in the Original Post. Having posted under Stardock Support, a rep couldn't really help because you didn't identify what the problem or reason for turning off WB was.

With what you have post in reply #7 someone may now understand and to be able to offer you a more practical solution. I'd like to help but I don't use Vista. From what I've seen and read alot of the problems with Vista aren't really problems, it's just how Vista wants to do things and people becoming more familiar with the OS.

If no one stops by with any suggestion you should contact support@stardock.com, chances are they know how to correct your problem.  ;)

Has anybody mentioned holding down the Control key while logging in yet? Even when WindowBlinds is configured with a UIS skin this will stop it from loading - helpful if you want to test something. Just remember you may have issues with StickyKeys if you hold it down too long!
