ObjectDesktop is a set of applications that are constantly being updated.  Typically, every few years, a CD snapshot is taken and sold.

If you subscribe to ODNT (for the same price as the CD) you get a year's subscription and can download all the apps that would be on the CD.  I think it's a better deal
