SDC ACL Bug

Hello Folks,

I want to post a bug (+my solution) that I've been encountering in Stardock Central. Maybe someone can point me in the right place if this belongs somewhere else?

For reference, I never run XP as Admin, except to install new programs, etc. Otherwise I always run in a Standard User account. However, I've noticed that SDC seems to install updates / new programs with unusual ACL settings. Namely, right after an install, CACLS shows:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Stardock\WindowBlinds\Turbo\turbo1280.jpg MALLOW\Mallow Administrator:F
NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM:F
BUILTIN\Administrators:F

This seems to apply to most any file installed via SDC, be it in Doc&Settings or ProgramFiles. Anyway, the end result is that when I logoff my admin account, and back to my standard user account, the updated application doesn't run at all, or the skin corrupts the UI.

Now, the fix for this seems to be to make sure that users have read access to the files. From an admin command line, I just have to remember to run

cacls "c:\program files\stardock\object desktop\*" /T /E /C /G BUILTIN\Users:R
or
cacls "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Stardock\*" /T /E /C /G BUILTIN\Users:R

And everything runs fine. (Don't forget the "/E", or WindowBlinds suddenly thinks it's unactivated! :d )

Anyway, this works for now. It took me some time to scratch my head before I found this little command to set the ACLs, and SDC is so far the only app to give me any trouble of this kind, so if anyone can think up / slip in a better solution, I would appreciate it!

Thank you,
