Problems with Gal Civ II in Stardock Central

Since I have trouble installing the game with my CD's I downloaded Gal Civ from Stardock Central. It says it is version 1.50 Beta. There is no intro in the game, and the music and sound effects are not working while playing (even if I checked the sound options). Why there is no older working version to download and just this beta?

Click the + next to GC2 and get the multimedia/video packages as well. The base download only includes what's needed to run the game, so people with slow internet service can get into it more easily (You can play while you download the rest).
