WindowBlinds Icons wont load

I just purchased Object Desktop and I'm having a problem. When changing styles in WindowBlinds the corresponding Icon sets wont load. There is an icon set listed in the Icons tab for each ones I have tried (several) and in Settings it is checked to replace user icon set with skin set. So I don't know what to do. I can use the Icon Packer in Theme Manager and change to those Icons but they are different than the ones in WindowBlinds I'm using XP. Any help would be appreciated.

user icon is your pic that shows on the startmenu or logon screen

which skin and corresponding icon sets are your referring to? specific example of one or two not working?

You are right about the user icon, I misread that one.

In WindowBlinds, Look & Feel, Toolbar icons. I have checked “Always use the toolbar icons defined in the current skin.” (but I have tried all three) The Visual Styles I have tried are: Arrow, Diamond, Fett, G-Pod V2, Molton, Parsec, and Turbo. Most of these have distinct icons so its not hard to tell. WindowBlinds simply wont change from the Icon Packer Icon sets. I can easily change the Icon Packer Icons using Theme Manager. The ones I have tried are: Areo, Aqualix Vista, Carbon-ite, ChristmasTime, Glass, Nicons Gold, and Slicer.

I currently have Nicons Gold Icon Packer set installed. Tried to change to Turbo using WindowBlinds. It changed and the Wallpaper changed but the icon set didn't.

If I go to Toolbar Icons and select the set for Turbo (Or any set) Click Apply Changes, nothing happens. It goes through the motions, the screen blurs and all that, but when its done the Icons don't change. They stay Nicons Gold or whatever Icon Packer set I choose.

you're starting to confuse me

toolbar icons - the one's at the top of your browser (home, refresh, back, etc)

you talking about desktop icons?

Yep, WaningGibbous I'm confused too..........

To change your Toolbar icons you use Windowblinds. I have had issues with the changing of toolbar icons too in the recent releases of Windowblinds and I found the only way to correct it was to select the toolbar icons I wanted and load them. If they don't show up after you have made the changes restart Windowblinds. If that fails, restart Windows and hopefully you will now have the toolbar icons you selected.

As far as the Iconpackager icons are concerned you can only change those via the Iconpackager software or Theme Manager. These have nothing to do with the toolbar icons.......

Does that help?  :)

The old icons that you are seeing are what is stuck in the Windows icon cache. Two solutions -1. (toolbar icons) right click on toolbar to customize, change icon size from small to large and back again. 2.(desktop and startmenu icons) Use Tweak UI to refresh icon cache.

OH!! the light goes on!!

I'm sorry, thank you all for clarifying this for me.

See, it says “WindowBlinds allows you to change the icons used on the toolbars in explorer windows.” Even though I did read “toolbar” it didn't sink in. So I was looking at Windows Explorer (for instance) and it wasn't changing the icons in the window area. But its not suppose to do that. Only on the TOOLBAR. My confusion started by looking at the icon set display when I click a set. They look like a complete set of icons and I mistakenly thought ALL icons would change.

Well as was said you can pick up IconPackager to handle that for you. If you like you can also give it a test run with the trial of it. You can find it here:
