WB 6 makes me not playing a multiplayer game

Good afternoon all! i have this problem with WB 6 (version 6.01 build 40). my brother uses a war game wich has multiplayer option, so he plays on internet. after i installed wb 6 he always get kickked (expulsed) by the servers beacuse it says " cheat n°xx(i can't remember) activated". i tried to unload windowblinds and magically all works fine. why does windowblinds do that? maybe it interfeare with the game or other parts of it? i tried also to put the file.exe in the list of not-skinning applications, but it is the same...

I have Win xp sp2 and WB 6 works perfectly ( as it is shown in System info)

any other ways? (it is a full screen game, maybe it's for that?) also the 6.0 version did it.

thanks fo replies. Good bye

What happens if you hold the CTRL key while launching the game?

the game is: vietcong (not the 2nd), it's an "old" game. let me try with the ctrl key...

hmm but it's a very strange thing, isn't it? i also tried to exclude from skinning the programm game spy arcade ( i think it is for playing online...), but nothing again

Yes, that is an odd problem. I have never heard of a game throwing a cheat error when it's just WindowBlinds running. Sounds like it may be a faulty cheat-detection algorithm to me.

hmm maybe it's beacause of that... but is there a way to avoid this expulsion?
i tried also with CTRL, but it's the same. I'm desperate, my brother is making my ears exploded!

You can play the game online with out Game Spy installed so I don't believe excluding it would help. Have you excluded the games exe? Also, have you installed all of the updates for the game?

Just a few thoughts...hope they help.

yes i have all the updates and added all the game exes. i discovered on the official forum that it is a reknown problem. they are incompatible because the cheat-protection detect a video hook (what is?) and kicks me. but i don't always want to unload windowblinds and reload it when i have finished... any other way?

Open wb config, go to Settings>Change the look of an app, add a per application in, select the games .EXE and under TOTAL EXCLUSION you want to have that check box selected, hit OK and you should be set.
I had a problem with Kane & Lynch where it would crash, excluding it from WB fixed the problem.

I said in the first post that i did it but it doesn't work....

Windowblinds "hooks' into Windows at a very low level.  Other "hooks" that work in a similar way can be used for cheating.

If that's the case . . there is no fix. They would have to adjust their cheat code. Posting to that forum might serve you better.

I posted on the official forum, but because of it is an old game, not so recent, it is not supported anymore ( someone said), and they can't find other ways

Looks like you'll have to unload WB6 then.
At least for now.

I wonder if Aero causes this "hook error" as well.....

I didn't explain well my situation... i have win xp so i don't have aero... did you mean this?
i have another idea:if you go in settings and you select the applications you want to exclude, there are some options-> the first is "exclude totally", but the others? there are 3 that could be interesting for me: "skin this app even if it uses Direct3d" (maybe) , "this exclusion is not inherited by any apps launched by this app and" and "enable if you get a bad image error". could they help me?

now i have modified the first post with the correct informations

If exclude all totally does not work then none of the others will help.

It sounds like their anti cheat detection has been set to specifically detect WindowBlinds even though it is not a cheating tool.

I ought to point out that WindowBlinds is not a video hook.

No, that's not what I meant. What I meant is that (and this does not apply to you) users of Vista have reported that Aero doesn't interfere with games like WB does. Both Aero and WB skin apps so if one works and the other doesn't, then something must be wrong. Obviously you can't test this because you don't have Vista, but this has been finding as well as others.

i'm losing the hope, no fix... hmm ihave other ideas
1)what about a programm that can isolate another programm (in my case the game) from the rest of the pc? is it possible? does it exist?

2)asking stardock to modify,in a build, the programm is excessive/possible?
or if someone know/can, modifing personally it?

3)i downloaded a free program called Riva tuner, an utilyty that can overclock graphic cards, modify some options, ecc... there are olso some options about Direct3d: Minimapping, Intellisample, LMA, Shaders, Blitting, Vsync, Textures, Compatibility, Antialiasing. every part has got some options in it. could they be helpful to me?

there is also an apllication installed with Riva tuner: D3d overrider wich has these options in wich you can put a tick or not-> Enable LoadLibrary hooking (hmmm?), Force Triple buffering in DirectDraw, Force Triple buffering in Direct3d8,... in Direct3D9,... in Direct3D10, Force Vsync in DirectDraw, Force Vsync in Direct3D8, ... Direct3D9, ... in Direc3D10 -> could they help me?

tahnks for your attention and replies
