Icon arrangement on desktop

Right-click menu changed

hi
just started using my registered Icon Packager.
Thought this might resolve with registration.
Why can't I put my desktop icons where i want them.
They keep auto-arranging to top left border.
Also desktop right-click menu has lost lots of options, inc "auto-arrange".

and I'm guessing it has a check mark to the left

it's a 'toggle'

click it and the check mark goes away and it's not longer auto arranging - then you can put them where you want

Don't think you get it?
Auto-arrange is no longer an item on right-click menu.
So can't be toggled on and off.
Perhaps you mean a toggle elsewhere?
So where?

ummm....

align to grid only keeps them even horiz/vert ... it doesn't make them all go to the left corner... that's auto arrange... which is one of the options not showing on OP's right click

so far, pizza's mine

it works on mine weres my pizza ?
can you unload whatever rightclick you're using? if so, just unload it and uncheck auto-arrange....

Sorry your right...

But we still get pizza..right?

i unchecked the align to grid and can drag the icons wherever i want and they don't move anywhere... thus they are not aligning to the left..

after turning off "align to grid" i can drag them wherever i want without them moving to the top left corner. so as far as i can see it's not auto arranging them either with align to grid unticked.

hey HG_E... uncheck align to grid and check auto arrange and try it
Reply #21 Top
I realize that but he said his dont show the option to uncheck auto arrange as its not there.. so im thinking they might have combined the 2 .. I still have both options in my desktop settings menu..
he may have to Dl a XP tweaking utility and use the desktop icon settings and stop the auto arrange that way..if some recent XP update hid the option...
seems the more ya update XP the fewer options there are .. as they seem to be disappearing...

Hey chaps, what about me?
NEway, I sort of gave up, for a while.
This altered right-click thingy seems to be related to IconX, I think.
I had bigger trouble with desktop refreshing every 5 secs and reloading systray.
Stopped that by uninstalling WB6 and reinstalling, may be coincidence.

I'll just finish the pizza and get back to it!

shouldn't, even though auto arrange doesn't seem to be an option when iconx is running
I set my icons on auto arrange, ran iconx... can drag to where I want... unload iconx and they're back where they started
