objectdock flickering issue

hey guys-

first off, i like objectdock better than any other docking app for windows, so i'd like to fix this issue so i can keep using it.

the problem is (and this has happened ever since install), sometimes when i mouseover the dock (anywhere, any link) it will often just flicker (the whole dock flickers on and off very quickly). as i move the mouse around it just flickers on and off very quickly and won't let me click anything, etc.

this happens for a while and eventually when mouse off/mouse on a few times it'll eventually go back to normal functionality. it seems random on when it happens and how long it takes for it to stop so i cant find anything that might be the problem.

anybody else have this issue or an idea for a fix?

Have you updated your video drivers of late? Sounds like a driver issue.

i was thinking that - however i actually updated my drivers a few days before i installed objectdock. they are currently up to date.

i'll go revert to previous drivers, try a few things with that and see if it changes anything.

ok no changes at all based on various versions of nvidia drivers.

after more thorough testing, i found that the issue seems to stem from the "interaction" setting under positioning tab. specifically, it deals with the focus of objectdock. when it is always on top or hidden offscreen while not in use, there is no problems whatsoever. when it is always on bottom, the issue happens 100% of the time, causing literally no functionality in my objectdock bar. when it was set by default to "hide in background when not in use" (which i would prefer), it didnt work when objectdock did not have correct focus... it required me to click on the objectdock bar to assume focus and then would work normally.

for now i am hiding it off screen while not in use until the issue is resolved. this may be a possible bug or a conflict issue with something else, i'm not sure. the only thing i can think of is i use EmergeDesktop as an explorer shell replacement.

so the next step: create a support ticket or report a bug?
