all an XML file is an easier way for me or you to change the game and add or own data like techs or weapons and stuff like that.and for your next question if your using DA you probroly doin't have a mod folder and youll have to make one.I find that its easier to copy you DL mod folder delete any thing you doint want and drag it over to DA and thats it you can use mods now.and by the way you must be very young or not very good with computers to not know this. But I hope that this helps you any.

I get this, it's a daring insult to the GalacticGod! To correct this wrongness Foxthree, I hope the GalacticGod will strike you down with a lightning-plasma bolt or at least go to your house and beat you up*.

Dear fox three,I am actually verry old. I know enough about computers, what I do not understand is when I download a Mod and it says place it in yoyr "My Mods Folder" which I have easily already created, i am under the stupid asumestion that when I hit use Mods,Change I will some how be able to get to that folder in the Main mene interfaze. Sad, this is not so. fox three is there a file I heard about somewhere from Star doc that explains it in deatail, or is my interface broke. You have helped me before; Thank You. P. S. Sidemancer must be a bored, bored, sad person! G.G. Out.

If you've added the mod in it's own folder into your C:\ProgramFiles\**\**\GC2\DarkAvatar\Mods folder it should be selectable from the Change Mod folder dropdown. If it doesn't make sure there is a ModDesciprtion.xml in that mod's folder. I just checked and it won't show up in the dropdown without it.

I will only go so far as admitting that I was bored. But there's also a hidden serious light criticism of both of your not-so-clear writing and seemingly harsh treatment of GalacticGod by Foxthree. But if you don't mind it GG, then I'll shut up about it.

Anyway, to make it up, I might help you with your problem: I don't think your interface is broken, but just creating a mod folder isn't enough to make the game recognize it. I think there also has to be at least a 'data' folder in the mod folder. You might try to make a default folder from within the game (in the options screen). This creates a mod folder with some folders and files in them. You might not need all of them, but the game will recognize the mod at least. So if you copy your mod files in the default folder you created, then you should be able to use the mod.

sorry about my post earlier its just that alot of the people ive helped have been playing this game for a long time and they still doint know how to mod yet.Heres how I learned I took other peoples conversions and mods took them apart and saw how they did it and just made my own just like it.But from some of the mods Ive seen and played arint very good.Because everything they did was unesseary theres always a easier way to mod.
