no it has not, although it does answer a few questions, but not what i really desired. I need something written specifically with windows vista in mind and covers the whole range of o.d ie the ins and outs of all the o.d, and this article and it is good, does not cover everything that i need or want.

It may not exist then.
The apps are safe with vista.  Either they won't work at all or they can be uninstalled if you don't like them.

There is no difference on "the ins and outs" of OD for Vista than XP except which one's are Vista ready. So the link in your other post and the Wiki - Skinning your PC are relevant.  The Wiki is being updated.

sorry i disagree, when your a beginner you notice even the smallest thing because you cant do them, when you are fully competent the small things are easily looked over because you are able and flexible enough to quickly do whatever needs to be done.

With Vista still relatively new, it'll take some time to get the documentation that XP has available for what you are looking for. Be patient, calm and friendly and you shall find what you need. Using the XP documentation should get you going on your Vista box, can't be THAT different. (That's a completely uneducated statement there as I don't have Vista)

have checked your reply and you are right, however my point is a beginner does not know these things but a competent user does, they know the ins and outs so to speak.

daygo, i don't know in your country but here there are so many book about using Vista (beginners level) that you can't be able to find those about xp. Maybe you should take a look...
In side note, we can help you on ODNT problems sure but be aware that mostly of the people running this site on day basis are users like you. Only a few are advanced users.

daygo...If you ask specific questions about anything your concerned or curious about you will more than likely get more specific answers. There are so many things to use in ODesktop that it would take along time to cover everything. So the best thing to do is take one thing at a time and you'll get a better understanding of how things work.

That's a MicroSoft computer question not a Stardock question - the winkey+r has nothing to do with Object Desktop.

Check at the MicroSoft site - see if you can get a link to the Vista User Manual - I think I read it's about 15000 pages
