Not really sure, but you can easily uninstall it if it's not what you want. Give it a try.

Can't believe someone don't know the answer to this. Has anyone installed the program and lost there settings? Been putting off installing it because it took so long to figgure out how to log on automatically

If you are using XP and LogonStudio messes up settings just use the restore function.

You are right about figuring out how to log on automatically. I did that back when I first got the computer not sure I can remember either how I did it. Then I only had one account on the computer, now I have three I select which account to long on with but no password and I do use LoginStudio.

dwax: No, you will not loose any settings. I'm assuming you're speaking about your username and/or password.

LogonStudio only changes the images (with certain logons editing buttons/scrollbars), but it will not delete anything. As Boss said, install it and change your logon screen to whatever you want. If you don't like it, reapply the default WindowsXP logon screen via LogonStudio and then uninstall it.

Also, why do you want LogonStudio if you currently bypass the logon screen?

I think it may be one of those mysteries of the universe.

It doesn't bypass the log screen, when it gets to that it comes up ans says Windows is loading your personal settings. Then windows loads. But thanks I think I will install it if I can find that paper I printed out on how to log on automatically.

installing logon studio and then having auto logon just means that the logon picture you choose to use will be displayed during the sutomatic login instead of the default windows one. nothing else will change, you will not be prompted to enter password etc. i know this because my laptop is set to automatic logon to windows and i have logon studio installed on that. have fun

What's the point of installing LS if you're gonna bypass it?

You can use Tweak UI which is part of the Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP to set Windows to automatic logon - and a bunch of other settings. Some of the other Powertoy tools are quite useful too.
