I had trouble updating to a newer version of windowblinds until i saw Zuubaz's post about uninstalling the earlier version & unticking archive on update rebooting then installing new version it worked a treat,it only happened the once & after the new version of wb was installed turning on archive again was fine, just can't remember if it was updating from v5 to v6 or not when the incident occured,in your case however try turning off archive first if it still hangs, uninstall the older version as well,it would pay to make sure SDC is fully updated before anything else, apart from uninstalling the lot inc SDC(i usually dump the lot & start again with fingers crossed if all avenues i try fail..lol.. it usually works tho i also manually remove registry entries as well after using ccleaner),other than that i can't help any further,in the mean time i take it you have a cheap objectdesktop software for sale

We'll assume that you have done the registry of the software, if so, then try what xscorpx identifies in his post. It should work for you. Come back and let us know.

Thanks all i so far have uninstalled all object desktop software removed any left over folders and files run object desktop zapper I the reinstalled the applications i required and the problem still persists. However if i uncheck the archive box i can now update my wincustomise browser which is a beta release ok but nothing from object desktop.i can only download and install non beta from them. as the beta downloads goes through the unpacking but hangs on the applying install instructions. the process has not stopped responding but never the least it will not complete

right click on one you want to install and choose: archive application > download and archive

once it's down downloading and archive - uninstall any version of it (reboot)

then choose: file > restore archive

wait a while, the window will show up - find your "new archive"

Tried that uninstalled wb from using stardock central rebooted machine now it still won't install a beta or even the new non beta release thats out. luckly i can install the original enhanced version downloaded when originally purchased. That works fine.can you download the latest version as a *.exe file.

Actually I would suggest starting a ticket with us at support@stardock.com. Sounds like you some kind of issue with Stardock Central that might need to be explored further.
