Check BoogieBac's latest Jorurnal. He said he'll try.

play in windows mode for now, at least you can see the clock on the bottom of your desktop. :)

or you could put a clock next to your computer that might help

An in game timer would be much more useful and effective. I already keep a timer by the computer when gaming and have dual display with clock. Most folks don't though.

I have actually tried with my UI modding to get a clock on the main screen, but it either would display the wrong time or no time at all. Seems it may be beyond the scope of the average modder or maybe I just haven't quite figured it out yet.

I would really appreciate an in-game real-time clock too. My gf says I get lost in "galactic-time" way too often.  :LOL:

++

I thought the in-game alarm clock (and the one-button update) were two features in Civ IV that just about every game should have.

Until that gets added, though, I'm using "Alarm Clock 1.0" by Scott Moore, a freeware program for Windows. You can get it from Download.com. I can play in full-screen, and when the alarm goes off, it grabs focus until you hit snooze or shut it off. Kind of jarring, but effective.

Geez - you want to sleep as well - thats a mere irritating pastime between game sessions :LOL:

I dunno, whippersnappers these days cant take the pressure ;)

You play and play and play and upon a while when you can’t manage keeping your eyes open you feel ready for a shut down...but then the message appears asking you something like “are you sure you don’t want to take another turn?”. Ok ok, another turn but then its finished.
At six o’clock in the morning your girl friend is showing up in the kitchen (becoming usually your empire office after midnight) saying: “you ain’t serious, are you?”

PS: our kitchen has a 20x20cm clock on the wall....

Not me, since GalCiv2 is so smart enough that it overlaps every other pixel, and it has no borders at all too! Its all good, but not when you look at the clock "HOLY SHIT! 5am :O"
