Thanks for the quick reply, not sure what you mean by which version of SDC, and when I find out which version I have how do I bring up the settings menu

SDC = Stardock Central browser

version = open SDC - help > about

setting in SCD = tools > settings > then in left pane - settings > general = mcp notification should be the 4th option

hi Bichur, thank you for your time and patience, I figured out where to find the version and settings before your last two posts, today must be my brain dead day
now I have to figure out DX-PDA I must say it's not what I thought it was
all I wanted was a way to control all my functions from one spot it does that
I am using another software for my wallpaper that gives me a sideshow of over
500 pictures
what would make my day is IF you were also using DX-PDA

well, unfortunately I don't have a PDA (I'm guessing that's what the DTX theme is to use) - if it isn't, then when I get a chance I'll check it out... however... I'm on dialup and about to leave town for a while... may not be until tomorrow at the earliest.

suggestion - go back to the page where you got it and read the comments, maybe the info you need is there... if not, post your question there... most skinners get a notification (if they turn it on) when a comment is posted... maybe Gef will see it and respond when time is available...

fyi - some things in a dtx theme can be changed by right clicking on specific parts of it - others have to be changed when in builder mode

What OS are you using? If your using Vista some parts of DX is not working very well in Vista. DX-PDA has nothing to do with a PDA It's just designed to look like a PDA.

3.49[rc]is the latest version of DesktopX

There is another post on this subject. WWW Link

I am using windows XP media Center, I am no longer having a problem with the desktop loading now I am learning how to configure what I want on it. I started off using
GalCiv 11 menubar this widget did everything I want it to, it's just not as compact as
DX-PDA but by it not being a desktop it did not change my old desktop which I liked the way it is.

What I really want is something like GalCiv11 but not as large but with the same functions. Unfortunately I paid money for DX-PDA so I am going to have to find a way to make it work. Thanks for the interest maybe someone who has dx-pda will offer some solutions.

For any kind of MCP/Systray/Taskbar issues, you can run this to reinstall the SDMCP server:

http://sd.stardock.com/mike/apps/mcp_102.exe

I do not believe this has full Vista support and can say for sure this will not run on x64 systems. Should otherwise be OK though.
