WB 6 screen.exe

In task manager (XP) I have 22 instances of screen.exe running! According to Windows Defender these are all part of WB 6 and I assume these haven't been closed down when changing themes? If I unload WB, they still remain 'active'. I deleted all instances of these and restarted WB and I now seem to have only one instance of the screen.exe running again.

I take it this is a bug?

Screen.exe is an app belonging to WB and instantiated on a skin change. Could you post your WB System Info here?

Several times I have opened Task Manager and seen over a dozen instances of Screen.exe also.    Of course I apply the same skin all day long, still i'm sure it shouldn't open a new procss everytime.

Caoimhghin Please open Windowblinds, System info & click on Copy text in the upper right hand corner, & paste that here.

I am running XP PRO SP2 and checked both startup & task manager and have no instances of screen.exe showing. How did you install WB 6 via website, e-mail or Stardock Central? And screen.exe is part of WB6 but something must be wrong with your installation. Also did you have a previous version of WB installed and did you uninstall it before installing WB6?

Here you are!

I upgraded from WB5 via the website. I unloaded WB5 before installing WB6. I think the installer for WB6 automatically uninstalled WB5 before it moved the previously installed themes to the new location.

Thanks for you time.

I can assure you as well as Stardock that it is not a virus.
After watching task manager as I change a skin screen.exe starts then stops almost instantly.

I agree, it isn't a virus it starts as soon as you change the skin in WB.

Right, just to make sure it wasn't an installation issue, I uninstalled WB, rebooted, reinstalled WB, rebooted then applied a skin. Screen.exe shows in Task Manager and remains in Task Manager, I applied a different skin and another instance of screen.exe starts and again remains in Task Manager, the program is not being shut down after a skin is applied.

Similar issue for me, 6 instances of screen.exe running straight after system boot and no blinds have been changed. Installed via SDC on top of WindowBlinds 5. The latter being removed during the install.
