EFD won't ignore a 16 bit application

After a couple of years of VERY happy use of EFD, I've had to uninstall it. I use a 16 bit application for some of the data analysis that I need to carry out for my PhD and EFD conflicts with it so that no Open/Save As/Browse to Folder dialogues will appear. Setting EFD to ignore the application's exe and dlls does not work (even after rebooting).
I'm running WinXP Pro Sp-2 (fully patched). The 16 bit application is for 3D Morphometric data analysis. It's called Morpheus and can be found here at http://www.morphometrics.org/id6.html.
Any thoughts?
