It’s been awhile,
Hasn’t it?
Yes, my friend,
Come in, sit.

Tell me,
How has life treated you?
Good, bad, indifferent?
I see you’ve gotten through.

Your dreams,
Do you still have them?
To make a difference,
To shine bright and never dim?

It’s such a shame,
Don’t you agree?
To have grown apart,
And never have time to see,
Each other and our friends,
And watch who we’ve come to be.

I’ve missed you,
Can you say the same?
If not then,
Am I to blame?

I wish that you could stay,
But who knows what time will bring.
You may go and leave again,
Flittering away like the birds that sing.

I wish you well,
And all those pleasantries.
I only ask that,
You keep me in your memories.
